With famers trying to go to Delhi to press for their demands and attempts to stop them midway by the use of force giving the look that the BJP government has bitten more than it can chew, Chief Minister of Rajasthan has criticized the policies of the NDA government and has asked the government to initiate dialogue with them without an delay.
Gehlot took to twitter and said that ….farmers are protesting too against black farm laws. Instead of resolving their woes, the government is up in arms against its own people. He said …the government of India should initiate a dialogue with them without any delay.
Actually the way the agitation farmers have been stopped has caused concerns across the country. The farmers have been facing cold and rains and are committed to reach Delhi , they were stopped on the way by the use of water cannons by the police.
While the NDA government appears to be up in arms against the farmers, meanwhile in Rajasthan farmers are happy after the Gehlot government passed laws to make sure that the law passed by the Union government in parliament doesn’t hurt their interests.
Going closely into the statements of Gehlot, he has always called for talks whether it is this matter or any other contentious issue.
While Gehlot yesterday asked for dialogue with farmers, when the NDA government had got the laws passed Gehlot had that time too called for an opportunity for a national debate on these laws so that a consensus could have been reached on this issue.
Recently Gehlot displayed his skill of dialogue when the Gurjar agitation too ended in the state after Gehlot’s talks with the gurjar leaders . This is itself a feat as during the BJP rule, lives were lost in police firing during the gurjar agitation during the first tenure of then CM Vasundhara Raje.
