CM Ashok Gehlot is gearing up for mission 156 as Rajasthan enters election year. The month of December later this year will see a new government and CM Gehlot wants to retain the power & is riding high on his social security schemes. He is surely a CM with a plan. His success lies in the delivery of benefits of his various developmental schemes and is his USP. Gehlot is right when he says that even after 4 years there is no anti-incumbency because under his leadership, Congress has won most of the byelections & other elections held in the state so far. Moreover the BJP ‘s local leaders are also finding it difficult to built a narrative against the govt probably that’s the reason that party bigwigs like HM Amit Shah & party President J P Nadda have made visits to the state while PM Modi too visited the state on the occasion of birth anniversary of Lord Devnarayan ji in Malaseri Bhilwara. BJP’s Jan Akrosh Yatra has also been called as a damp squib and the party is struggling with internal differences as to who will be the face of the CM candidate in the state. BJP tried to make paper leaks an issue but Gujarat is no different. Sunday’s paper leak in Gujarat has made BJP defensive as people realize that paper leaks are a national issue & not limited to any particular state.
Infact Gehlot’s governance model should be used by the Congress party in other states where the electorate has drifted away from it because the way Gehlot has provided succor and relief to the weaker sections amid the time of rising price rise is outstanding.
