CM Ashok Gehlot has given a reason to cheer to the state government employees before Diwali festival. He has declared adhoc bonus for the employees on the occasion of festival. This decision has been hailed across the sections of state government employees,

Moreover the decision has also been taken to make salary cuts for government employees as voluntary in view of Diwali.

Pay cuts for government employees were introduced in Rajasthan earlier this year as a measure to deal with financial crisis in the state amid the coronavirus pandemic.

It is noteworthy that despite the difficult circumstances that have arisen because of Covid-19 pandemic, for the sake of employees, a decision has been taken by CM Gehlot to provide an ad hoc bonus to the employees on the occasion of Diwali.

As per Gehlot government’s decision, 25 percent of the bonus will be paid to the employees in cash and 75 percent will be deposited in the GPF account.

These two decisions have given a double joy kind of a feeling to the employees during the COVID time.

The state government like any other state government has faced COVID-19 health crisis and this has increased pressure on finances of the state. Gehlot government has already taken several relief measures like distributing 10 KG wheat and 2 KG chana per family free of cost to the about 56 lakh people outside the ambit of NFSA while cash transfer of Rs 3500 was also paid to the vulnerable people to give the some support during COVID time apart from other social benefit schemes.
