The choice of legal experts by Sachin Pilot and his supporting MLAs to represent them in the High court against the notice served to them by the Rajasthan Assembly is enough indication about the side on which Pilot is. He was represented by eminent and sharp lawyers Mukul Rohatgi and Harish Salve, both considered to be one of the best. Rohatgi is ex-Attorney General and was appointed by BJP government ,he has also been Additional Solicitor General(ASG) during the previous NDA government. While various media reports suggest that Salve has expressed his opinion in favour of CAA which was opposed tooth and nail by Congress.
Various political experts said, this development indicated that it has become crystal clear about the BJP being involved in this matter and cast doubts on Pilot’s refusal to join BJP. Though the advocates/legal experts are professionals who can represent any client but the choice made by Pilot during such circumstances is enough for people to get the hint.
Sachin Pilot and other Congress rebels moved the Rajasthan high court on Thursday against the disqualification notice issued by assembly speaker CP Joshi to disqualify them as MLAs. These MLAs were not present in the Congress legislature party meeting held on July 13 and 14. This happened in spite of repeated efforts of the Congress party to call him back to Jaipur along with his supporting MLAs.
While it has been claimed by the Pilot camp that he is not planning to join BJP, however, there is no clarity about his probable next move.
