Full marks must be given to CM Ashok Gehlot for bringing the focus of the entire nation on the topic of affordable & accessible healthcare for everyone. Right to health enacted by Gehlot is one such step which will be etched in the annals of the history of the country. The UPA government is credited with giving the Right to Education ( RTE) Right to Food and such acts for the benefit of vulnerable sections. In Rajasthan Gehlot went one step ahead & has provided with Right to Health. Though the doctors & government locked horns over this and there was a deadlock between the two for the last few days, it cannot be denied that this act is a revolutionary step in making health care accessible for all especially during an emergency. The various aspects related to this act were debated throughout the country and no one questioned the intention of CM Gehlot as everyone agreed on this point that healthcare is essential for everyone. Doctors who were initially pressing NO to RTH also relented after some of their demands and points were accepted.
After the talks doctors had recently called off their stir and Gehlot had tweeted that the state government and the protesting doctors have reached a consensus on the Right To Health Bill. “I am happy that a consensus has been made between the government and the doctors on the Right to Health. Rajasthan becomes the first state in the country to implement the Right to Health.”
