May there be ‘ equitable’ distribution of vaccines based on needs of states

Rajasthan is again looking for Covid vaccines as the centres have run dry amid the reports that in the last 66 days Rajasthan got 88 lakh vaccines less than UP and Madhya Pradesh.  Incidentally both these states are BJP ruled and MPs claim of vaccinating maximum a few days back has been marred by reports claiming the slowdown in process for the D-day .

However this is not the case with Rajasthan which has rather been consistent with vaccination and has been ranked among top states of the country. Probably states like MP were a one day wonder Rajasthan has constantly vaccinated its people with the available vaccine doses.

In such circumstances it becomes a difficult task for the medicos to vaccinate people. The basic idea is to vaccinate the people to altogether defeat the virus once for all hover intermittent interruptions are making it difficult.

While the Rajasthan CM  Ashok Gehlot has constantly called for bridging the gap between the supply and demand and has taken to social media and voiced his concern,  there has been a pin drop silence at least on social media from the people concerned.

It is rather ironic that while the whole army of the BJP makes vociferous attacks on even trivial matters on the CM and the state government, the BJP’s responsible leaders  seldom reply on issues of public importance  related to Rajasthan.  It must be recalled that CM Gehlot had even suggested to Union minister Arjun Meghwal to press for the demand of vaccines from the health minister but nothing seems to have worked which could inspire BJP MPs of Rajasthan to push for vaccines for the state by using their good offices.
