Both the union ministers of the Modi government who represent Rajasthan are earning quite a name for themselves during the Corona pandemic! Union Minister Gajendra Singh’s name has appeared in the multi crore Sanjivani credit cooperative scam and a Jaipur court has ordered the police to conduct an inquiry on his role in this scam which duped the hard earned money of lakhs of people. The court order came on a petition of two residents of Barmer, who, along with some 50,000 other people, invested in the scheme that offered interest between 10% and 12%. Ladu Singh, one of the petitioners claimed to have invested Rs 54 lakh and Guman Singh, the second petitioner said he invested Rs 14 lakh with Sanjivani Cooperative Society.
His name has also appeared in the alleged audio tapes regarding the horse-trading and his voice samples are needed by police. Congress has demanded his resignation while he is refusing to give his voice sample to Rajasthan police.
Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal who is also Lok Sabha member from Bikaner, recently shot to fame after he was seen advertising ‘Bhabhiji papad”and claimed that this snack can drive away coronavirus. It soon became viral on social media and was criticized for what it being termed as unscientific claims by the ministers. Many social media users shared his video and made comments about it.
It is worth recalling that BJP had won all the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the general elections last year and Meghwal and Shekhawat were made ministers in the union government.
