This year’s Diwali is not only different on the account of COVID-19 virus pandemic but is also special because probably after a long time the focus is back on good health. Whether it is about Dhanteras where health has become the real ‘dhan’ or wealth or about ban on crackers imposed in Rajasthan due to the pollutants they emit making it hazardous for people.

Attention needs to be also drawn to the fact that two acts of cleansing the system of corrupt people and adulterated food stuff is also in progress in the state. These days, the Anti-Corruption Bureau ( ACB) which has been given a freehand by the Gehlot government is catching big and small fishes of corruption in various departments almost on a regular basis. The arrest of a corrupt executive engineer of PHED taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 has just only added to the count of corrupt officials harassing common man. On Friday itself, there are reports of arresting another senior official in Chiwara, Jhunjhunu by ACB.

Meanwhile the war for purity-Shuddh ke liey yuddh is going with full momentum and action is being taken against adulterators  while adulterated food products are being confiscated. There is not a single day when action is taken against the offenders who are trying to damage the health of people by supplying adulterated food material on the occasion of Diwali festival.

These actions, one of creating a corruption free environment and another of providing pure food products are special aspects of this Diwali.

With the ban on crackers, the air quality will be good, corrupt are being put behind the bars and food adulterators are on the run. What can be the better way to celebrate Diwali ?
