Rajasthan has started moving towards the direction of strengthening the economy post COVID lockdown period. It has brought the tourism sector under thrust and has offered benefits to this sector under RIPS-19. The idea is to support and provide a tourism sector which is one of the main sectors of revenue as well as employment in Rajasthan. The state gets a chunk of inbound tourists both domestic and international and has the requisite infrastructure also. The sector experts feel that benefits under RIPS will bring relief to the sector. These steps and the recent tourism policy will give the push to this sector which will ultimately be good for the economy of the country also.
The state government has taken certain steps to further boost the spirits of the agriculture sector too. Recently interacting with farmers from all 33 districts through a video conference, chief minister Ashok Gehlot had asked them to take advantage of grants provided by the state government for setting up food processing units.
He took feedback from farmers on the implementation of the Rajasthan Agro-Processing, Agri-Business and Agri-Export Promotion Policy, 2019 .
The chief minister said that the policy will promote agri-process units and generate employment opportunities.
So basically the idea of the government is to encourage farmers and to increase their capacity through this policy and offer new vistas to them. For this the policy will act as a catalyst.
Traditionally these two sectors have been dominant sectors in the state and have earned a name across the world. Infact state has been awarded with Krishi Karman award given in the agriculture sector at national level many times.
With not only the society as such but the economy of the country taking a tailspin due to COVID-19, these two sectors with the help of these government policies will be able to perform well.
