Elections are round the corner and the BJP is concentrating on making strategies after its Parivartan yatra failed. PM Modi’s regular visits and BJP’s plan is to counter CM Gehlot who is looking confident because of the success of his schemes. Gehlot has now announced formation of 3 more districts in the state- The three new districts are Malpura, Sujangarh, and Kuchaman City. The chief minister said that the decision was taken keeping the demand of the public and the recommendation of a high-level committee. This is the second time in the last few months that new districts have been created by CM making Rajasthan a state with 53 districts now. While the CM is following a multi pronged strategy of giving relief from inflation, benefits of social security schemes and policies promoting agriculture , BJP is yet to find a formula that can make the things work for it. Apart from using its trump card Modi visits too early in the game , the party has not been able to give a proper message to the masses about what it is willing to do and why the people should vote for it. There is lack of clarity about the role of 2 time CM Vasundhara Raje and who will be the face of the party in upcoming elections.
In such circumstances, Congress appears to be better positioned and confident of taking on the BJP. It has been able to successfully convey the message that the visits of PM Modi means that the BJP is nervous and is on a sticky wicket.
