Youth play an important role in democracy and form a sizable chunk of voters. They can make or break governments and so for this reason they are not ignored as voters by the political parties.
But when it comes to giving tickets, parties usually go with the senior leaders and cast their bet on them. The BJP still experiments and cultivates younger leaders but Congress usually puts more trusts on old war horses rather than on young guns. They may have their plausible reasons for this but youth prefer youth and therefore many a time youth prefer the BJP because of the younger candidates who are one among them and understand their needs. Therefore the Congress party must focus now on giving a larger share of the tickets to the youth who can help in realizing mission 156.
It is said that while there is no anti incumbency against the state government but in many places there is anti incumbency against sitting MLAs. The news related to the survey of the congress party published in newspapers is ample proof of that. Hence the party must focus on giving young leaders a chance so that the youth can get attracted towards the congress party and its ideology.
There are several leaders in the party who wish to work diligently for the party and have new ideas and energy , until they are given a chance , the party won’t be able to bring youth in its fold.
