In what can be termed as a glaring example of Gehlot government’s zero tolerance policy against corruption, ACB which comes under the home department headed by CM Ashok Gehlot himself , raided the house of Jaipur heritage mayor Munesh Gurjar and arrested her husband on the charges of corruption. Gurjar is a Congress leader and still her husband has been trapped which is an ample indication that whosoever may be the accused, action shall be taken against them without political considerations.
Notably it has been alleged that Sushil Gurjar , husband of the Mayor, was demanding the bribe through two middlemen Narayan Singh and Anil Dubey in lieu of issuing lease of a plot. After verification of the complaint, a trap was laid and all the three were caught while taking the bribe. During the search of the house of Sushil Gurjar, the ACB team recovered more than Rs 40 lakh in cash and file of the lease.
ACB comes under the home department and CM Gehlot himself heads the department. He has been known to have promoted and encouraged ACB actions saying that not only small fries but the crocodiles of corruption must be caught.
Interestingly with this ACB action, husbands of Jaipur’s both mayors – Munesh Gurjar Jaipur heritage and Saumya Gurjar, Jaipur greater have faced troubles.
Saumya Gurjar is a BJP leader and Munesh Gurjar is from the Congress party. This shows that rule of law prevails and no discrimination based on political parties is done under the rule of Gehlot government
