CM Ashok Gehlot appears committed to bring the Congress back to power in the assembly elections which are due in later months of the year. Congress party convened a meeting on Friday in which all the top leaders of the state including CM Gehlot, PCC President Dotasra, former Dy- CM Sachin Pilot , K C Venugopal who had flown from Delhi , Incharge Randhawa and other leaders discussed about political matters in the state.
Later speaking to the media all the leaders expressed confidence that Congress would return to power in Rajasthan.
Hectic preparations are being made at the level of Congress party and CM wants to buck the trend of change in government every five years in the state . Taking lessons from the defeat of 2013 when the congress party had lost despite successful social security schemes, this time CM is leaving no stone unturned to reach out to the masses. His schemes were beneficial last time also. Free medicine scheme was hailed across the country . This time CM has launched multiple schemes and has provided the best social security cover to the people. So to buck the trend, to change the riwaj congress is working hard.
But at the same time the BJP looks very much dependent on this riwaj and the face of the Prime Minister Modi. They are yet to declare a CM candidate face. Since the last two terms Vasundhara Raje has been the face of the party whether in win or in defeat. However this time it appears that things are not so simple in the BJP.
