Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP form the soil of Mangarh Dham in Rajasthan’s Banswara on Wednesday.
Gandhi had made a visit to tribal heartland of Rajasthan on the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples and criticised the BJP for calling tribal people “Vanvasi” instead of Adivasi.
He said BJP calls tribal people Vanvasi. …whereas the Congress wants the tribal population to get their rights and their dreams fulfilled.
“They want you (tribals) to stay inside the jungles. They want you to stamp with Vanvasi but we will not accept this.” He also mentioned “ You are the owners of this country and this land is yours.
Congress party leaders had been burning candles from both ends to make this rally successful. The party gave a united look and Sachin Pilot too addressed the gathering.
Mangarh holds political importance both for congress and for the BJP as this place has a sentimental value for the tribals of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
Rahul’s public meeting can be called as sounding the poll bugle for the congress too as the party is banking on the tribal community which has been one of its core voters since many decades.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion CM Ashok Gehlot too attacked the BJP and slammed the party for not making Mangarh Dham a national memorial.
