CM Ashok Gehlot made some important announcements on the occasion of 77th Independence Day of the nation among which ERCP finds significant mention.

Gehlot said that Ramgarh Dam here will be filled with water of the Isarda Dam under the East Rajasthan Canal project. He also said that 53 dams of Dausa, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Bharatpur and Alwar districts will be connected with the project to provide water.

Notably ERCP is a big political issue in the state especially in Eastern Rajasthan and congress has  been regularly highlighting this.

CM Gehlot in past has been raising this quite regularly and has also reminded the PM Modi about his assurances on the issue during last assembly elections in 2018 & he has been demanding status of national project for ERCP.

Infact opposition has been on target of CM Gehlot and the congress party on this issue which is expected to become a focal point in 13 districts of Eastern Rajasthan during the ensuing assembly elections.

Meanwhile CM Gehlot is all set to launch yet another social security scheme –Mukhyamantri Nishulk Annapurna Food Packet Scheme on the occasion of Independence Day from today.  Under this scheme, families covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) will get Annapurna food packets every month from the ration shops. In this packet, one kg gram pulses, sugar and iodized salt, one liter soybean refined edible oil, 100 gram powder each of chili powder and coriander powder, and 50 grams turmeric powder will be given to the beneficiaries at free of cost.
